Hotel Reservations
The 2012 Advanced Accelerator Concepts Workshop will take place at UT Austin's AT&T Executive Education & Conference Center, which also provides hotel accommodations. The AT&T Center is located at 1900 University Avenue, Austin, Texas 78705. We have contracted with the Center for a special rate of $139 per night for conference attendees*. Rooms at the conference rate can be reserved at the AT&T Center at any time up to May 17, 2012. Reservations made after this date are subject to standard Conference Center rates. All AAC 2012 attendees wishing to secure accommodations at the AT&T Conference Center are responsible for contacting the Conference Center to make their reservations.
There are three different ways in which attendees can make reservations:
- Access the AT&T reservations website. This website will take you to the 2012 Advanced Accelerator Concepts Workshop reservations page. Enter the desired arrival and departure dates in the reservation box at the top left of the page. Click SEARCH. The site will bring up room options. The only options should have the group rate.
- E-mail AT&T and reference the Group Code, which is ACCELE0612.
- Call 1-877-744-8822 and reference the Group Code, which is ACCELE0612.
*We have contracted for a limited block of government rate rooms at the AT&T Center. Once these rooms are sold, you will not be eligible for a government rate room even though you are a government employee. The government rate will be the prevailing rate at the time of check-in at the hotel. You must show proof of government employment upon check-in to receive the government rate. Please contact Amadeo Gonzales, once you have reserved a room at the conference rate, in order to have the rate adjusted to the government rate. Note that the government rate will not explicitly appear as an option on the AT&T Center's website.
ATTENTION NON-US REGISTRANTS
If you get the message "there are no room types available for the selected dates" it is, most likely, a connection problem. Please click HERE to download an AT&T Center Reservation Request Form, which you can complete and FAX to the AT&T Center at (512)404-1600, ATTN: Ms. Mallory Irizarry. When the AT&T Center receives your form, they will make your reservation and return a reservation confirmation to you on AT&T stationery for your files.
Directions to the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center
Austin is served by Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) (+1 512-530-2242). The airport is off Highway 71, southeast of downtown. The SuperShuttle service (+1 512-258-3826) charges US $13 from the airport to downtown. A taxi between the airport and downtown costs from US $20 to $25. Most of the national rental car companies are represented at the airport. The Airport Flyer (Bus 100, $1) runs every 40 minutes or so. The stop for the AT&T Conference Center is on North Congress Avenue across the street from the Bob Bullock Museum. Click HERE to see a map of the location. There is a walk of approximately 2 blocks up a slight incline to the Entrance of the AT&T Hotel Guest Rooms. You will take the elevator up one floor to the Guest Room Desk to check in to your room.
Accommodations at San Jacinto Residence Hall
Accommodations are also available in San Jacinto Residence Hall (SJH) on The University of Texas campus. Click HERE to see a map of the location of SJH in reference to the AT&T Center. For our AAC 2012 participants, we have arranged for a rate of $35 per night per person with dual occupancy, and $70 per night per person with single occupancy. Reservations for accommodations at SJH will be confirmed if received by May 6, 2010. Student AAC 2012 attendees wishing to secure accommodations at SJH must elect this option at the time of registration on the registration web site. AAC 2012 attendees other than students must contact Amadeo Gonzales to request housing in SJH on an "as available" basis. Only student housing at SJH will be confirmed until the Early Registration deadline of May 1, 2012.
Directions to San Jacinto Residence Hall
SJH is located at 309 E. 21st Street, Austin, Texas 78705. On this map, SJH is located just southwest of the horseshoe-shaped stadium, The AT&T Center (ATT on the map) is west of SJH, and and Robert Lee Moore Hall (RLM) (Physics Department) is approximately 3 blocks northwest of SJH. The map will show the location of SJH, ATT, and RLM, and their relation to each other as well the locations of the most convenient campus garages.
